The Frank Melville Park is a privately run, publicly accessible park surrounding the Melville Mill Pond. The park was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 19, 2010. The 24-acre park contains walking trails and is also home to the Bates House, a beautiful venue hosting weddings, parties, and events. The park is home to wildlife galore and flat walking trails throughout make it a lovely spot to unwind after a long day. The park is dog friendly.
Avalon park has five diverse habitats, abundant native flora, fauna, and walking trails. It is a nature lover’s paradise – with more than 80 acres of trails, a wildflower meadow, a habitat for numerous woodland animals, many species of ferns, and massive oak trees. The preserve is open to the public year-round from dawn to dusk and is free of charge. The park is dog friendly.
